Causeway Trek
Here’s your opportunity to spend a beautiful day walking in a picture postcard landscape. Following 6 very successful years, NI Chest Heart & Stroke will be holding the Causeway Trek on Saturday 11th May 2013 to raise money for people living with chest, heart and stroke illnesses.
The route begins at the world famous Giant’s Causeway and traverses over 10 miles of varied terrain to its finish at the clifftops of Carrick–a–rede. Along the way you’ll take in fabulous views at landmarks including Whitepark Bay, Dunseverick Harbour and Ballintoy and you’re sure to enjoy some craic with your fellow trekkers.
The Causeway Trek can be challenging, so you need to have a good level of fitness to tackle steep climbs and an area of shingle and boulders at Portbradden beach. You must also ensure that you are prepared for the weather and wear appropriate clothes.
You’ll need a proper pair of walking shoes, and sun screen if necessary. Also bring adequate food and drink for the duration of the walk. Before the event we will send you more detailed information. To take part, all we ask is that you pay a registration fee (£10 for adults and £5 for children).
The funds raised by NICHS Causeway Trekkers will really change lives. There’s encourage you to raise as much as you no minimum sponsorship but we can, as every penny will make a difference. For example, just £50 sponsorship will pay for an art therapy session at one of our support schemes, which help stroke survivors rebuild their confidence and independence.
Causeway Trek Mini Trail
This is a great family fun walk to entertain all the kids. Entry is only £3 per person or £10 per family of four. Take part in our testing pirate trail quiz and discover our curious clues, which take you on an extraordinary excursion with stunning views along the way.
The Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke marquee will have activities and crafts to entertain all the family at the end of the trail. Sound good? Then why not join us on the Causeway Trail at Larrybane car park on the 11th May 2013.
The money raised by the Causeway walkers will help to fund our support services, health promotion and research in local hospitals and universities. All funds you raise for us are used entirely in Northern Ireland.
