Moyle Disability Football Club is now off for the Summer months. The Club will continue again in September 2010. Details will be posted on the website and advertised in the local press.
Moyle Disability Football Club – Cross & Passion College, Wednesday's at 6pm-7pm for 7-14 years and 7pm-8pm 15 years+ (No upper age limit).
Moyle District Council and the Irish Football Association are collectively running a Disability Football Club at Cross & Passion College, Ballycastle. The club is designed to enable anyone with a disability of a physical and/or sensory nature to take part.
The initiative was introduced in October 2009 and is delivered in two sessions each night. (Session one) 6pm-7pm is for children aged 7-14 years and (Session two) 7pm-8pm is for anyone aged 15 and upwards (there is no upper age limit).
Moyle Disability Football Club is an accredited project suitable for anyone with a disability wanting to take part in constructive football coaching in a safe and suitable environment. The venue and club has developed into an excellent forum for children, young people and adults to socialise and learn new skills.
Funded by the Irish Football Association and coached by a high level IFA coach the club takes place every Wednesday night in the Cross & Passion Sports Hall which is accessed at Moyle Road, Ballycastle via the Sports Hall Entrance.
Everyone is welcome boys, girls, men and women the emphasis is on having fun, meeting socially and participating in recreational football. Our main aim is to create opportunities for disabled people to participate in physical activity. Please come along and make this club a sustainable venture for the people of the Moyle Area.
The project is funded through Awards for All and the IFA will fund costs during the initial stages of the program. The coach will be assisted by volunteers who will help to deliver the sessions.
